Social Emotional Learning
Ms. Lammering, School Counselor
Welcome!
My name is Ms. Lammering and I am the School Counselor for P.S. 280 in District 30. This is my eighth year at P.S. 280Q and I'm excited to see what this year has in store!
I work in collaboration with school staff and parents in order to best meet the needs of students. I have the joy of working with students through classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling, and individual/at-risk counseling. I support the school community by:
- Promoting positive attitudes among students towards self, family, peers and community.
- Assisting students in learning how school performance relates to future opportunities.
- Delivering lessons that teach skills such as decision making, resolving conflict and respecting others.
- Working with students, parents and school staff to identify learning needs and to design interventions to enhance student success.
- Helping students to recognize and make the best of their abilities.
- Assist 5th grade teachers, students and families with the Middle School process.
- Providing support during a personal crisis.
- Working with students on attendance issues.
- Coordinating referrals to outside agencies.
- Developing student career awareness.
- Helping to create a safe and positive learning experience.
I look forward to working with the students, families and faculty at P.S. 280Q this year!
